We’re shining a light on a small town worthy of recognition and exploration. Burnsville, North Carolina is a town with beautiful shops, friendly people, and a whole host of delightful destinations just waiting for you.

We’ve been to Burnsville before on the show visiting the beautiful NuWray hotel. It’s a great place to stay and an awesome jumping off point for your exploration of the area. But today we’re focusing our attention right here on some of the great spots to check out near the lovely town square.

We’re starting things off at Tulsi Rose Tea and Creamery – a delicious destination to stock up on all things tea and more. Chai teas, Matcha teas, Bobo teas, custom blends – if you can’t find it here, well, it’s probably not tea. And there’s more! Did someone say ice cream? Yes please.

Up next we’re heading just up the street to Something Special Gift Shop and Monkey Business Toy Shop – a combo destination with a ton of great finds for the grown-ups and the kiddos. And it’s a true Burnsville staple.

Something Special Gift Shop has been in business since 1985, and it’s a great place to find clothing, home decor, and much more. It’s so much fun to explore with such wonderful people. And right here you also find Monkey Business Toy Shop – a fantastic place for kids of all ages.

Finally, if you’re looking for a good book, then we’ve got just the place for such an outing. It’s actually at Something Special’s original Burnsville location – it’s Plott Hound Books.

From fact to fantastic fiction, poetry, foodways, byways, and more… Plott Hound Books is a wonderful local book store filled with local flavor and bestsellers.

It’s kind of like Burnsville itself. There’s a little bit of everything here: it’s a cozy spot filled with stories just waiting for you to come and explore.
