Ingles Markets is going on a road trip to find all the Carolinas have to offer. Now fall is in full effect, you’re probably looking for some exciting activities to do with the family. Chris Bainbridge has the answer, and it’s in the Upstate. When he asked his friends what’s a fun, can’t-miss destination for fall, their response—Denver Downs Farm.
Denver Downs Farm has been owned and operated by the Garrison family since 1869. Initially established as a cotton farm, you can find Denver Downs on the National Register of Historic Places. After transitioning to a dairy farm, it evolved into an active family business dedicated to agritourism and entertainment, and it’s a flat-out good time.
This place has dozens of family-friendly activities for kids of all ages. Two fall classics you can’t miss are the pumpkin patch and the corn maze. There’s plenty for kids to get into, like hanging out on a giant spider web, a climbing wall, and challenging rope courses. At night, experience cozy bonfires with delicious s’mores, singing pumpkin lights, and the flashlight maze. Denver Downs also partnered with The Fairy Tale Trail for some fantastic experiences that connect kids to the world of agriculture.
On weekends, treat yourself to the PigTucky Derby, which is as adorable as it sounds. There are four other areas you can purchase food and drinks from—the Kettle Corn Barn, the Silo Canteen, Garrison’s Grub, and Duke’s Sandwich Shop in the Picnic Barn. Bainbridge asked one of the farm owners what’s one “can’t-miss food item” people love. While there are quite a few, the kettle corn is a favorite.
Denver Downs is an excellent place to dive head-long into the fall season. It’s a fall festival just waiting for you and your family. You will leave with more than pumpkins, gourds, and sticky fingers. You’ll also take-home memories to last a lifetime. You can purchase tickets in advance and plan your weekend trip online. Once you arrive, you’ll never want to leave. It’s acres of fun.
