We’re in north Georgia – riding the rails in a fun new way that we can almost guarantee you haven’t done before.
We’ve done a lot of creative transportation on this show. We’ve ridden on horseback, classic car, SwinCar, helicopter, turf tube, snow tube, Alpine coaster, bikes, e-bikes, quad bikes, pubcycles, boats, paddleboards, and the list goes on. But we’ve never done this before.
This is a custom-built, four-person electric Rail Bike. Here the folks from Blue Ridge Scenic Railway are offering a fun way to get out and enjoy a brand new technology on these same types of rails that were originally used for one of the first forms of motorized transportation.
And by the way you can still enjoy that nostalgic first form – AKA train travel – while you’re here as well. From the historic depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia you can embark on a gorgeous 4-hour train ride along the Toccoa River – and we highly recommend you do. But in this episode.. we’re peddling.
The pedals help power the electric motor which assists you on your journey. These babies are made in the USA and offer a sweet smooth ride along streams, through vineyards, and beneath the swaying Georgia pines.
The rail bikes are fun and easy to operate and you don’t have to worry about steering! You make your way through some really beautiful countryside and you get to see some views that you really can’t see anywhere else.
Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a glorious stop off for a fun day of adventure. Make sure and wear sunscreen and close-toed shoes, bring some water, and get ready for a great time.
