Wintertime in Ingles country can often be a mixed back of temperatures. One day it’s freezing, the next you’re in the 60’s. Well, we’re visiting a place that’s fun in any weather, but it’s particularly great if you’re looking to escape the winter blues.
This is Breakout Games – the leading escape room in the country. You can find Breakout locations in Atlanta and Knoxville, but we’re in downtown Asheville getting into… getting out.
Escape rooms, also known as puzzle rooms, exit games, or riddle rooms have been around for about 20 years. The basic concept is you and a group of friends have a fixed amount of time to solve a series of puzzles and riddles to work your way out of a mystery. Beat the clock and you win the game.
And don’t worry, you’re not locked in and there are no consequences other than a bruised ego for failing to “break out”. The goal is to work together. You look for patterns, work through puzzles, and one riddle righted leads to the next one until you solve the final puzzle.
The great thing about Breakout Asheville is that you have 9 different experiences to choose from, like the Wild West Room, The Mystery Mansion, The Kidnapping, Bomb Squad, Museum Heist, Runaway Train, Operation Casino, Hostage, and this one from one of my favorite childhood board games, the Hasbro Incorporated CLUE room.
Breakout Games is the perfect indoor, collaborative activity for families, friends, couples and even coworkers to escape the ordinary and experience a life-sized game of twists and turns! “Winning” isn’t really the point – it’s about the fun you have playing the game… but let’s be real, winning feels pretty great.
To celebrate your fun time you can head right next door to the S&W Market featured on a previous episode of the show for some great food and drink, and then downtown Asheville awaits.
So, gather up your friends and family and get ready for a good time – and enjoy getting out together here at Breakout Games.
