We’re stopping off to check out a bit of a milestone here on the Ingles Open Road – one that we’ve all reached together. This is our 100th episode. And since we reached the century mark here today, we thought it would be a fun opportunity to take a look back and the places we’ve visited together.

Our “teeny tiny TV show” as we like to call it got its start back at the height of the pandemic. And you might recall that back then grocery stores were one of the only places that stayed open. Ingles’ customers were coming in with some pretty major cabin fever in those days. Well, the folks at Ingles heard that. And they also heard all of their local partners in the many communities they call home genuinely hurting and in need of just a little bit of help.

So, an idea began to take shape. What if we created a little series that showed people fun and interesting things to go do … while at the same time shining a light on local businesses? And The Ingles Open Road was born.

For decades Ingles Markets has been intrinsically linked to the small towns where they’ve set up shop. If there’s a fair, a concert series, a food drive… chances are it’s got the words, “sponsored by Ingles” at the end of it. To me it’s what makes Ingles more than a grocery store.

And that’s what this show is all about. It’s community. It’s connection. It’s us really – you, me, our neighbors… and the things that bring us together. Things like fun, family, friendship, and food… lots and lots of food.

It’s been so much fun for me taking this road trip with all of you, and we have to give a loud shout out and tons of gratitude to Mel our Executive Producer, Kevin our Editor, and Carson, Chris’ Adventure Buddy and Cameraman on so many of these awesome outings.
